Licensed Nursing Assistant Training Program
If you are considering pursuing a nursing career, becoming a Licensed Nursing Assistant (LNA) through our Licensed Nursing Assistant Training Program is a practical first step toward gaining exposure to and experience with the nursing profession. The eight-week program includes didactic teaching in classrooms at New Hampshire Technical Institute (NHTI), plus active learning in patient care settings.
How the Program Benefits You
You not only learn the skills and knowledge required for a New Hampshire LNA license, but you also have the total tuition paid for by Concord Hospital health system. You are hired as a full-time, non-exempt, benefits-eligible employee. You can access health and dental insurance, paid time off, and other employee benefits. At the completion of the program, you are eligible to sit for the New Hampshire nursing assistant competency test and submit your LNA license application to the New Hampshire Board of Nurses. The earn-while-you-learn program model is a cost-effective and time-efficient way to get training and experience for a career in nursing.
Program Requirements
- High school diploma or high school equivalency degree

Completion of prerequisite courses or assessments as required by NHTI

Satisfactory background check and immunization records and other healthcare facility requirements

Application and admission process through Concord Hospital health system and NHTI
Training Dates
The next eight-week training begins on May 20, 2024. The application process opens on March 18, 2024, and closes on April 26, 2024.

To provide comprehensive training in fundamental nursing principles, patient care skills, and clinical procedures required for LNA practice.

Clinical Training & Academic Coursework
Training
- Hands-on experience in a long-term care facility and hospital setting under the supervision of experienced nursing staff.
- Practice in vital sign measurement, patient positioning and transferring, bed making, and patient hygiene.
- Assistance with activities of daily living (i.e., bathing, dressing, feeding, toileting).
- Observation and participation in patient care routines, procedures, and treatments.
Coursework
- Academic coursework is offered through NHTI to supplement clinical training.
- Courses may include medical terminology, human growth and development, nutrition, and psychology.
- Integration of theoretical knowledge with practical skills learned in the clinical setting.
Certification & Career Opportunities
Upon successful completion of the program and passing the LNA certification exam, graduates are eligible for entry-level employment as LNAs with Concord Hospital health system.
The LNA Training Program, offered in partnership between Concord Hospital health system and NHTI, provides students with a comprehensive education and training experience to excel as LNAs in hospital settings. Through a blend of classroom instruction, clinical training, and academic coursework, students are equipped with the skills, knowledge, and certification necessary for a rewarding career in healthcare.
