Diversity Statement
The goals of our residency and health centers are to create a nurturing and inclusive environment to train future leaders in family medicine and retain graduates in our communities to practice for decades to come. We strive to create an environment of inclusion where patients, staff, residents and faculty feel supported no matter their race, sexual orientation, country of origin, religion, gender identity, ethnicity or physical abilities.
The members of the NH Dartmouth Family Medicine Residency (NHDFMR) and the Concord Family Health Centers (CHFHC) are the primary care providers of over 10,000 people in the Greater Concord and Hillsboro areas. Our daily work allows us to be interwoven into the fabric of these communities. As such, we are in a unique position to bear witness to the role that inequality plays in the physical and mental health of our patients. With this knowledge, we are able to advocate for positive change in how care is delivered to specific populations.
Over the past 25 years, we have recruited outstanding residents that represent diverse backgrounds from across the world. This diversity makes us strong. We intend to continue to create a supportive environment for our learners, patients and staff. This will require ongoing hard work. We approach this work with humility, understanding that there will always be more to learn when we fall short of our intentions. These efforts at NHDFMR and CHFHC must continue every day and we commit ourselves to improving Diversity, Equity and Inclusion within our organization.
