Garrett Boucher, LNA
"I knew this was the career path for me."
Garrett Boucher didn’t expect to have a career working in healthcare, but after spending some time as a patient safety attendant in Behavioral Health at Concord Hospital, he decided to pursue his degree as a licensed nursing assistant (LNA) at Lakes Region Community College in Laconia.
“After a few months of working with patients and getting to experience the satisfaction of helping others in a hospital setting,” said Boucher, “I knew this was the career path for me.”
In addition to his appreciation for the expertise shared by the program instructors, Boucher came away from his time working with patients in Behavioral Health with a feeling of great fulfillment and inspiration to continue on this career path. Boucher completed his clinical training at Concord Hospital - Laconia and worked at a nursing home.
“My experience in class and the clinical setting was excellent,” he said. “As students, we were provided with the necessary tools to excel as LNAs.”
Today, Boucher works in orthopaedics at Concord Hospital; however, he hopes to return to Behavioral Health in the future.
