Erin Maltais Receives Excellence in Nursing Award for Outstanding Contributions in Emergency Nursing
Concord Hospital is proud to announce that Erin Maltais, RN, BSN, was honored with an Excellence in Nursing Award in Emergency Nursing by the New Hampshire Nurses Association. She received the award at the 7th Annual Excellence in Nursing Awards reception on May 22, 2024, at the Grappone Conference Center in Concord, NH.
Each year, the Excellence in Nursing Awards honor the unrecognized champions of our healthcare community for their unwavering commitment to comfort, heal, and educate. Nominees in 13 vital specialties, ranging from pediatrics and public health to leadership and education, were selected by an independent panel of nursing leaders from Vermont, Maine, and Massachusetts.
This is such a wonderful honor for Erin,” said Director of Nurse Operations Melissa Golightly, Concord Hospital – Laconia and Franklin. “I am honored to work alongside Erin, and we are truly fortunate to have her on our team, providing exceptional care to the patients in our community.”
Maltais is a staff nurse and clinical lead in the emergency department at Concord Hospital - Laconia. She began her career at the hospital in 2006 as a licensed nursing assistant in the geriatric psychiatric unit. Over the years, she transitioned to the telemetry unit, where she served for nearly a decade, then spent a brief time in the intensive care unit. Her passion for emergency medicine eventually led her to the emergency department, where she humorously refers to herself as a “lifer.” Maltais earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Western Governors University and is currently pursuing her master’s degree in nursing.
It is an honor to receive this award, and I am deeply humbled,” said Erin Maltais, charge nurse and clinical lead at Concord Hospital – Laconia. “As I reflect on my career, I remember why I chose nursing as my profession. It’s the compassion, the care, and the difference we make in people’s lives every day that drives me.”
