Concord Hospital Health System to Conduct Armed Intruder Drill on May 1

Concord Hospital health system is partnering with the NH Department of Safety's Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management to conduct a drill exercise that will simulate an armed intruder at a hospital. The drill will take place on Wednesday, May 1, 2024, beginning at 10:00 am at the health system's Franklin campus.

The planned drill is designed to allow Concord Hospital’s security team and medical staff to test their ability to collaborate and quickly devise a coordinated response to test safety protocols.

Throughout the drill, observers will see Concord Hospital security officers and medical personnel in uniform. Onlookers may hear sirens and other loud noises. A hospital employee will be acting as a pretend intruder for this drill. Most of the exercise will take place outside the hospital’s emergency department.
