Concord Hospital Health System to Conduct Armed Intruder Drill on September 25
Concord Hospital Health System (CHHS) is partnering with the NH Department of Homeland Security to conduct a drill that will simulate an armed intruder at a hospital. The drill will take place on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, beginning at 10:00 am at the hospital’s Concord campus.
The planned drill is designed to allow CHHS’s security team and medical staff to test their ability to collaborate and quickly devise a coordinated response to test safety protocols.
Members of the media are welcome to observe the drill. Please contact Dawn Beers, public affairs manager, at
(603) 227-7000, ext. 4215, to RSVP. Also, please note that if you receive calls to alert you of a police presence at Concord Hospital Health System in Concord it is because of this drill.
Throughout the drill, observers will see CHHS security officers and medical personnel in uniform. Onlookers may hear sirens and other loud noises. A hospital employee will be acting as a pretend intruder for this drill. Most of the exercise will take place outside the hospital’s emergency department.
Concord Hospital Health System takes the safety of our patients and staff seriously. For that reason, the hospital conducts safety training for a variety of disasters and emergency situations.
