Chief Advancement Officer Pamela Puleo Steps Down
After an illustrious career spanning 34 years, Chief Advancement Officer Pamela Puleo has decided to leave the Concord Hospital health system to pursue a new career opportunity.
“Stepping away from my role as Concord Hospital’s Chief Advancement Officer is bittersweet,” said Puleo. “I am proud and grateful for the opportunity to work with so many wonderful supporters and volunteers who shared in the journey to assure that everyone has access to needed medical care and health services locally. I leave knowing that both Concord Hospital Trust and the organization are in good hands.”
Puleo joined Concord Hospital as Director of Development where she established the organization’s first broad-based philanthropy program in 1989. She was later promoted to VP, Philanthropy and Public Affairs where she oversaw public affairs and marketing, volunteer services and philanthropy. Over time, her responsibilities expanded to include oversight of hospitality services, the gift shop, spiritual care and patient therapeutic activities and holistic services. In 2018, she was promoted to Chief Advancement Officer where she served on a team that managed the process to purchase LRGHealthcare, developing and implementing a communications plan to engage and inform both internal and external audiences of the acquisition.
Throughout her tenure, Puleo led volunteers and staff to raise nearly $85 million, which supported the creation of The Family Place and Healthy Beginnings Endowment; Payson Center for Cancer Care; Forrest D. McKerley Simulation and Education Center; the Emergency Department; Abbie Moseley Historical Gallery; Rooftop Healing Garden; automatic external defibrillators and LUCAS automatic chest compression devices for the community; and the Cardiovascular Institute.
